The Citrus Valley High girls cross country team took 13th place out of 28 teams in the Gold Division 3-mile run at the 44th annual Woodbridge Classic meet on Saturday.
Girls from Redlands High and Redlands East Valley also competed in the two-day meet at the Orange County Great Park.
Citrus Valley scored 359 points paced by ninth-grader Alyssa Castaneda, who wound up 25th with a time of 18:30.9. Sophomore Abrielle Ontiveros finished 56th in 19:22.0.
REV placed two runners in the top 100 in the Red Division Junior-Senior girls 3-miler on Friday night.Kiera Dornieden, a junior, finished 16th overall in 9:33.4, while junior Melany Plumb was 41st in 20:33.6.
In the Red Division Frosh Girls race on Friday night, Lyanna Garcia took seventh in 20:38.7.
Next up for all three teams is the Citrus Belt League No. 1 cluster meet at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Cal State San Bernardino.
BOYS
IRVINE – The Redlands High boys varsity finished 15th of 28 teams Friday night in the 44th Woodbridge Cross Country Classic.
Redlands East Valley and Citrus Valley also competed in the two-day event at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine.
The Terriers scored 359 points, led by Hudson Glassmire, who finished 38th overall in 15:57.2. Teammate Calvin Osborn was 92nd in 16:29.9.
In the Red Division freshman boys 3-mile run Redlands finished 18th with 455 points. Joshua Lemus was 40th in 18:08.8, a second ahead of teammate Eric Kish (18:09.3).
Andrew Dahnke of REV ran in the same race and finished 33rd in 17:40.6.
REV finished ninth overall as a team in the Red Division Senior Boys 3-miler with 277 points. Richard Cunningham led the Wildcats with a sixth-place finish (16:08.5) on Friday night. Matthew Aguilar took 21st in 16:41.8.
In the Red Division sophomore boys race, REV’s Nicholas Solorzano was 69th in 17:44.3, leading his team to 39th place with 945 points.
Citrus Valley’s boys took 28th place in the Gold Varsity race on Saturday night with 697 points. Junior Evan Rout was the only Blackhawk runner to place in the top 100, finishing 49th in 15:41.9.
In the Rated Varsity Boys race Saturday, REV’s sophomore Elijah Medina placed 50th in 15:06.1, after running a sub-15-minute 3-mile in the team’s previous meet this season.
All six CBL teams will be in action on Saturday in the league’s first center meet at 7:30 a.m. at Cal State San Bernardino.
