Solo piano and the "Olive St. Piano Trio" will be featured when The Spinet music organization meets Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church,
100 Cajon St.

The public is invited to this free program.

Sandy Pappas will perform music by Chopin and Grieg, and the piano trio of violinist Aaron Weintraub, cellist Becky Long and pianist Ed Yarnelle will perform the Clara Schumann Piano Trio in g minor, Op. 17.

Pappas has studied piano many years, including the past 20 with Inessa Niks. She has been acquiring the Niks piano technique of playing without tension and building a repertoire of different styles of composers.

Pappas received her bachelor's degree in dental hygiene from the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. She enjoys sharing her piano music with her Azure Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church. She has been a member of the Spinet since 2008 and performed for several meetings. She also teaches snow skiing to the disabled.

Her Feb. 17 program includes Grieg's Piano Sonata in C major, and a Chopin nocturne and valse.

The Spinet's March program featuring the "Pianos Plus" eight-hand quartet has been moved a week earlier than originally scheduled — now set for March 10, using the Contemporary Club's two grand pianos.
