City seeks District 1 residents and college students for advisory body focused on equity and community relations.
REDLANDS, Calif. — The city of Redlands is accepting applications from qualified residents interested in serving on the Human Relations Commission, an advisory body that works to promote equity, goodwill and positive relations among residents of different races and national origins.
The application deadline is Jan. 28.
The commission advises the City Council and assists the city in addressing human relations issues by supporting efforts that foster understanding and cooperation among individuals and groups.
The seven-member commission includes five members appointed by City Council members from their respective districts, along with two student members who must be either Redlands high school sophomores or juniors, or college students. The city is currently seeking applicants from City Council District 1 and from college students.
The Human Relations Commission meets quarterly at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of March, June, September and December.
