REDLANDS, Calif. — Accelerate Neighborhood Climate Action Redlands will open its 2026-27 Speakers Series Sept. 23 with an event focused on the personal and emotional experiences surrounding climate change.

“Our Climate Stories: Finding Courage & Connection” will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Flores Community Center, 111 W. Lugonia Ave.

The free event will begin with a personal climate story and a brief discussion of global warming trends before participants break into small groups to discuss their own experiences and responses to climate change. Participants may share as much or as little as they choose.

“Many people are carrying grief, fear, anger, or anxiety about climate change, but they may rarely have an opportunity to talk about those feelings,” ANCA Redlands founder Linda Hamilton said in a statement. “Sharing our stories can remind us that we are not alone.”

The event will also introduce the organization’s approach to community resilience, including efforts to help neighborhoods prepare for disruptions, support vulnerable residents, share resources and strengthen local connections.

The series will continue in October with a discussion of resilience in Redlands, including city infrastructure efforts and ways neighborhoods can prepare for emergencies and other disruptions.

Registration through Eventbrite is encouraged for the Sept. 23 event, but walk-ins are welcome.
