A look at City Council priorities

What to know about this week’s Special City Council Meeting

The City Council will hold its second workshop to decide on what new projects to prioritize during a Special Meeting on Tuesday, August 22, at 4:30 pm.

Why it matters: The workshop aims to identify how city staff should spend time researching projects and preparing new agenda items.

Here's a rundown of the priorities that Council Members will bring for consideration at Tuesday's meeting, as listed on the staff report attached to the agenda:

Proposed City Council priorities and projects. (Graphic updated 08/23 to include “Northside Economic Development.”)

Council Members will have an opportunity to present their projects on the list and introduce new items.

This list is not extensive of City Council priorities. Earlier this year, City Council went line-by-line with city staff to prioritize a longer list of items during a Feb 13 Special Meeting.

Voting delegation

City Council will also consider a voting delegate for the 2023 League of California Cities Annual Conference in Sacramento next month.

According to the staff report, an Annual Business Meeting is held during the conference to establish League policy. To vote at that meeting, the City Council must choose a voting delegate and up to two alternates.

The City Council Meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 35 Cajon Street, Redlands, California and on Zoom.
