REDLANDS, Calif. — A 38-year-old woman was killed Thursday night after she was struck by a utility trailer being towed by a pickup truck while walking along Orange Street, according to Redlands police.
The collision occurred about 10 p.m. on Orange Street north of Pioneer Avenue.
Police said the woman was walking south on Orange Street when she was struck by the trailer of a small pickup truck that was also traveling south.
The 56-year-old driver told investigators he did not see the woman. After feeling an impact, he pulled over on Pioneer Avenue to inspect his vehicle, discovered blood on the trailer and called 911.
Redlands Fire Department paramedics found the woman unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police said the driver showed no signs of impairment. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Redlands Police Department's Traffic Unit.
The crash marks the fifth pedestrian fatality in Redlands in the past 11 months.
Previous fatal pedestrian collisions occurred in August, September and October 2025, and February 2026, according to Community Forward Redlands' reporting.
