REDLANDS, Calif. — A vehicle crashed into a tea shop in Redlands on Tuesday afternoon, injuring one person inside the business, according to the Redlands Fire Department.
The crash occurred on the 700 block of Nevada Street. Fire officials said one occupant inside the establishment was struck by the vehicle.
Redlands Firefighter/Paramedics treated the injured person at the scene before transporting them to the trauma center at Loma Linda University Hospital. The individual’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The business, identified as Hoji Tea Room, announced on social media that it will temporarily close following the incident. In an Instagram post, the shop said a customer was injured and taken to the hospital, while employees and others present were not harmed.
“Hoji is temporarily closed for this week,” the post read. “There was an unexpected accident that happened to our shop today.”
The business added it expects to remain closed for up to two weeks as it addresses the aftermath of the crash.
“Our thoughts and prayers first and foremost are with the customer and are praying for their speedy recovery,” the post said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
