Stage adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s classic horror novel runs through Oct. 25, with an opening-night gala.
REDLANDS, Calif. — A chilling tale of supernatural mystery comes to the stage this Halloween season with The Haunting of Hill House, opening Friday, Oct. 9, and running through Oct. 25.
Adapted by F. Andrew Leslie from Shirley Jackson’s classic horror novel, the play follows Dr. Montague, an investigator of supernatural phenomena, as he attempts to uncover the dark history of Hill House, a remote mansion with a sinister reputation.
Long abandoned and feared by locals, the house has remained empty except for daily visits from its caretaker, Mrs. Dudley. When Dr. Montague arrives with three companions to investigate the unexplained forces within its walls, their search takes a terrifying turn.
The production opens with a free gala following the Oct. 9 performance.
Performance details: Shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 25.
