Special school board meeting: Redlands Unified board to finalize certificated layoffs

REDLANDS, Calif. — The Redlands Unified School Board will hold a special meeting Tuesday to take final action on certificated layoffs affecting 24 employees as the district continues to reduce staffing amid ongoing budget challenges.

Why it matters: The final list of proposed layoffs include counselors, teachers, nurses and student support staff across multiple school sites and programs, including middle schools, elementary schools, Redlands Adult School and specialized student services.

The board is expected to formally adopt Resolution No. 2025-2026-29 during the May 27 special meeting. The layoffs would take effect at the close of the current school year.

The special meeting is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the Redlands Unified School District boardroom, 25 W. Lugonia Ave.
