Redlands orchestra to close season with Aaron Copland concert

REDLANDS, Calif. — The Redlands Community Orchestra will close its season May 24 with a free concert celebrating America 250 and the music of Aaron Copland.

The concert, “American Masters: Aaron Copland,” will feature the Community Chorus of Redlands, directed by Jamison Stevens. The orchestra will perform under the direction of Music Director James Benanti.

The program includes Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man,” “Old American Songs” and “Three Dance Episodes from Rodeo.”

The concert begins at 3 p.m. at Redlands High School’s Clock Auditorium, 840 E. Citrus Ave. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and will close for the start of the performance.

Admission is free, and children are welcome.

The Redlands Community Orchestra is sponsored with support from the Redlands High School Instrumental Music Department.
