The ninth annual event will raise money for the Redlands Animal Shelter with a dog-friendly course through downtown Redlands, contests, demonstrations and adoptable animals.
REDLANDS, Calif. — One driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and 33 others were cited during a Redlands Police Department DUI and driver's license checkpoint Friday, Sept. 25.
Police screened 632 vehicles during the checkpoint, which was held from 6 p.m. to midnight at Brookside Avenue and Eureka Street.
Eighteen drivers were cited for license violations, including one for driving with a suspended license, according to the department. Another 15 drivers were cited for other vehicle code violations.
Police said DUI checkpoint locations are selected based on data showing where impaired driving-related crashes have occurred.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a California Office of Traffic Safety grant through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
