REDLANDS, Calif. — A man was arrested Wednesday evening, Oct. 7, after allegedly firing a handgun outside Whiskey Republic in downtown Redlands, according to the Redlands Police Department.
Police responded to reports of shots fired outside the bar at 101 E. Redlands Blvd. approximately 30 minutes after the incident occurred.
A witness reported seeing a man fire a handgun before placing the weapon inside a vehicle.
Arriving officers found spent cartridge casings on the ground outside the vehicle and observed live ammunition in the backseat.
Officers searched nearby bars and located a suspect who was positively identified by the witness. Police said the man, who described himself as a member of an outlaw motorcycle club, was arrested on suspicion of willfully negligent discharge of a firearm.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and recovered ammunition, a magazine, a holster and an unregistered firearm commonly known as a "ghost gun."
No injuries or property damage were reported.
A man was arrested Saturday evening, Oct. 3, after allegedly robbing a Circle K convenience store at 765 W. Redlands Blvd.
Police said the suspect entered the store with his arm and hand concealed and demanded cigarettes. The clerk, believing the man was armed, handed over the merchandise.
The suspect fled on foot but was located several blocks away and arrested.
Officers searched the surrounding area but did not locate a firearm.
Redlands police are investigating an armed robbery reported late Friday, Oct. 2, in the 800 block of West Pioneer Avenue, near Citrus Valley High School.
Police said the victim was walking home when three male juveniles exited a vehicle, approached him and forcibly removed his necklace.
When the victim attempted to recover his property, one of the suspects displayed a firearm and threatened to shoot him.
The suspects fled in the vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing.
