**REDLANDS, Calif. —** Hundreds of young museum goers got up close and personal with centipedes, tarantulas and beetles at San Bernardino County Museum on Saturday for the first day of Arthropolooza: The Ultimate Bugfest.

The two-day event, running March 29 and 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., transforms the Redlands museum into a buzzing hub of insect-themed exploration, featuring live bug exhibits, art, expert talks and hands-on fun for the whole family. Organizers expect thousands of attendees over the weekend.

“We are thrilled to bring Arthropolooza back and offer a deeper look into the fascinating world of insects,” said Dr. Mackenzie Kirchner-Smith, curator of integrated biology. “Insects are often overlooked, but they are vital to our ecosystem. Through this event, we hope to inspire visitors to develop a greater appreciation for these tiny creatures and the important roles they play.”
